Welcome to the Mackay Marina

Mackay Marina Village is located in Mackay, North Queensland, at the gateway to the Southern Whitsundays. As well as being twice named Marina of the Year, we are a certified Clean Marina and the only marina in Queensland to qualify for Fish-Friendly Status.

Not just a marina, we also offer accommodation, food and drink, and shops and services. Our precinct includes a Residential Village of townhouses and apartments.

The Mackay Marina has over 400 berths for all types of vessels ranging from 10m up to 55m. We pride ourselves in being a clean and fish-friendly marina, always are doing what we can to help the environment.

The Mackay Marina Village is a small community always getting together to have a good time. Everyone you meet is full of knowledge and will have a story or two to tell you about their adventures. We can’t wait to see you at Mackay Marina Village.

Berths up to 49M

The Mackay Marina has over 400 berths ranging in size from 10 metres to 49 metres. We have a range of monohull and multihull berths to suit the vast range of vessels that are sailing or motoring through the Marina.

65 Tonne Travel Lift

The Mackay Marina has a 65-tonne travel-lift designed to slip boats of up to 28ft beam; slipping of single, double or triple hulled vessels and much more.

Beautiful Scenery

Mackay has been touted as the best place to spot a platypus in the world, but what else can you do in our beautiful region? Get up close with nature and wildlife, camp out under the stars, wet a line and hang with some friendly locals.

Our Facilities

The Mackay Marina is designed for vessels with a 3.5m draft at lowest astronomical tide.

It is a Port of Entry to Australia with Australian Customs and Border Protection & D.A.F.F. on site. The Marina Basin contains:

• 479 berths, available for purchase or rent – including 102 purpose-built multi-hull berths of varying size;
• 6 Mega Berths of 55-metre capacity;
• 12 Big Boat Berths for 30m+ mono-hull and 25m+ multi-hull;
• 32 commercial fishing berths – plus 1 maintenance berth and 3 unloading berths.

How far is the shopping centre?

Canelands Central Shopping Centre is located 7.2km away from the Marina complex or 9 minutes via vehicle and 1 hour 25 minutes on foot.

What is there to do around the Mackay Region?

What type of transport do you have at the Mackay Marina?

The three main types of transport to get around Mackay are our hire cars that we have for offer for half a day or a full day; public buses that run four times a day from the Marina; taxi's which pick up and drop you where you need to go.

Do you have 24-hour fuel facility?

Yes! We have a 24-hour fuel dock with diesel and unleaded fuel available. You are able to pull up any time to refuel and refill water tanks with our drinkable water.

Do you allow pets?

The Mackay Marina has strict rules when it comes to pets on the marina. They must be kept on a lead at all times when they are not on the vessel and they are not permitted to roam free off the vessel. Pets must be approved on application to the marina.

Maritime Safety Queensland Mackay Region requests that all arriving Recreational and Domestic Commercial Vessels provide a filled out form with all details (which we will email to you – please contact us) before you arrive. This will be immediately forwarded to Maritime Safety to allow assessment of the vessel’s state. We will provide a quarantine area for such vessels that are required to self isolate for 14 days or the days remaining.
